Nicole S. Rice
Having held several key posts within the Schwarzenegger Administration, Nicole Rice now serves as a legislative policy strategist supporting Strategic Counsel's advocacy, government and regulatory practices. Ms. Rice developed her public policy expertise representing small businesses, utility companies, educational organizations and local government bodies on a wide range of matters while crafting and driving legislation. In her effort to effect change, she worked with grass roots community leaders to equip them with the intricacies and blueprints required to succeed in navigating Sacramento's public policy arena.
Prior to joining Strategic Counsel PLC, she was deputy director for strategic planning at the Department of Consumer Affairs for the Schwarzenegger Administration, and served as deputy secretary, then as acting chief deputy secretary, in the Governor's Political Appointments Unit. During this time, Ms. Rice was integral to identifying and recruiting individuals to fill key positions in the Governor's Administration. Ms. Rice has also worked as a consultant for the Assembly Republican Caucus and as a public affairs representative in the Sacramento office of Southern California Edison.
Ms. Rice earned her bachelor's degree in political science with honors from California State University, Hayward (now known as CSU East Bay). She was awarded her juris doctorate from the Santa Clara University School of Law in 1998.
